Chamber Music Work of the Day, Installment 9:
"Passacaglia, Chorale, and Dance"
for
Trombone Quartet
(2010)
Melodically, "Passacaglia, Chorale, and Dance" is one of my favorite modal pieces in my catalog of compositions, and it just so happens to be written for trombone quartet. I believe the tight registral spacing such a work requires inspired melodic invention.
I owe a great deal of thanks to trombonist, composer, conductor, and publisher, Jamie Wehr, who worked with me to make certain that the piece is idiomatically sound. Thank you, Jamie, for assisting me in making this piece an effective one.
Like most of my catalog of published titles, I am proud that "Passacaglia, Chorale, and Dance" is published ECS Publishing Group. Follow the next URL to visit the product page for this title. The publisher's catalog number for the performance set is 7.0691.
