The Renée B. Fisher Composer Awards for 2027
I have been named a winner of the Renée B. Fisher Composer Awards for 2027 – A Program of the Neighborhood Music School, New Haven, Connecticut. In addition to receiving a cash award, the composer will attend the premiere performance of the winning piano piece currently titled "I’m in the Mood for Hungarian Two," at the winners concert on May 1, 2027.

MY RED BOOTS is based on one of only several poems written by my mother, Jewish Holocaust survivor Rita Hoffman of blessed memory (1927–2018). Both she and my late father, Josef Hoffman, were Jewish Holocaust Survivors. My mother’s brief memoirs are housed at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
