TEXT IN ENGLISH
We kindle these lights
because of the miracles, the liberations
and the wonders
that you performed for our ancestors,
in those days and in this season.
During all eight days of Chanukah
these lights are sacred;
we are not to make use of them
but only to look upon them,
so that we may offer thanks unto your great name
for your miracles, your liberations and your wonders.
—English translation by the composer
