Mallarme presents music for brass featuring horn player Jeff Scott and the Carolina Brass. The ensemble will premiere a new commission for Mallarme by composer Peter Askim “Anatomy of an Embrace” for French Horn and Brass Quintet, as well as music by Jeff Scott, including his arrangement of William Grant Still songs and Pesadelos for horn and piano and the brass trio Crossing Barriers. Additionally, the Carolina Brass will perform excerpts from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein and Fanfare, Tango and Fugetta on Hebrew Themes by Stanley M. Hoffman

Jeff will be joined by pianist Candace Bailey and the Carolina Brass:

Tim Hudson and Antonio Marti – trumpet

Bob Campbell – horn

David Wulfeck – trombone

Justin Worley – tuba

John Beck – percussion

This program is supported with a Spark the Arts Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.
