This piece is in the following form: A-B-A’-B’-A”.
The following scales are employed melodically and harmonically.
A – C Hungarian Major
B – F Hungarian Minor
A’ - C Hungarian Major
B’ – F Hungarian Major
A” - C Hungarian Major
The second and third A sections feature etude-like note repetitions in altered rhythms.
The second B section features a harmonically altered version of the B music.
A chromatically and rhythmically altered version of the Hungarian National Anthem, “Hymnusz,” is embedded in the eighth note figures of the two B sections.
