"Notturno Pastorale"
for
Trumpet Solo (2016)
This work was composed for a call for scores for Vox Novus' 15 Minutes of Fame series. Although it was not chosen for performance by Kate Amrine, this brief, unperformed piece for Trumpet in B-flat or C would be a nice addition to any trumpet recital or concert.
"Notturno Pastorale" is a straightforward, tonal piece which begins in C Minor, makes a journey to A-flat Major in the middle section, and closes with a recapitulation of the opening section. The music features traditional pastoral melodic and rhythmic motifs in 6/8 time. The present edition comes in versions for both B-flat and C trumpet.
