"Waltz-Scherzo" is inspired by Chopin's scaler chromatic waltzes. Since the call for one-minute scores for which this title was composed involved a virtuoso pianist, I did not hold back regarding the difficulty level of the music. Accompanied chromatic scales are shared between the hands in the two outer sections. The middle section features accompanimental figuration doubled in octaves.
