Choral Piece of the Day, Installment 36: Morgen! (Tomorrow!) by Richard Strauss, Arranged for SATB Chorus, Piano, and Optional Violin Solo, or SATB Chorus, Violin Solo, and Chamber Orchestra: My arrangement of this German art song from 1894 which was originally composed for solo voice and piano or chamber orchestra was completed in 2011. It may be performed either in German or in English; the English singing translation is my own.
The choral pitches sound as a natural outgrowth of the melody and the harmonies of the accompaniment. The chamber orchestra consists of 3 horns, harp, violin solo, and strings. I kept the orchestral arrangement as close as possible to Strauss' original orchestration, having only changed two pitches to accommodate the addition of choral voices.

Tomorrow brings the dawn with sunshine beaming and on the pathway
that I travel will she unite us happy ones,
